Wine bottles come in two sizes, 750 ml (3/4 of a liter) or twice that size, 1500 ml (1 ½ liter). Both will work in all of our wine bottle stake products. The differences are how long the water in the reservoir will last before it needs to be refilled, and how the bottle size looks with your plant. The watering rate will be close to the same, approximately 500 ml per day.
Plastic bottles come in a myriad of sizes up to 2000 ml (2 liters). Select a bottle size that looks good with your plant. Larger ones give you longer periods between the need to refill the reservoir. They are great for times when you will be away or too busy to water more often.
Easy-Fill stakes are designed to work with open-topped reservoirs. This is very helpful when watering a deck full of plants. They are excellent for hanging planters which need regular watering to flourish. Note that plastic bottles can be cut to fit well in hanging planters as shown in the photo.
